Aroko Chocolate

We are an Italian company that deals with the production of chocolate following the artisanal method known as “Bean to Bar”, in addition to this we use exclusively high-quality cocoa beans from Venezuela. Every aspect of production – from the selection of the treated cocoa, to the processing of the chocolate, up to the sale of the finished product – is handled directly by us, inside our laboratory.

Our mission: to offer you a journey of taste

Aroko was born from the desire to let the public discover all the quality and diversity of Venezuelan cocoa. Because there is not just one chocolate, on the contrary: there are as many types as there are varieties of cocoa beans. And in no country are there as many as in Venezuela We are Dubraska and Johonny, a Venezuelan couple who have been living in Italy for about ten years. We decided to embark on this adventure to bring everyone a little piece of the land where we grew up.

Why Aroko?

In the Chaima language of the indigenous people who populated part of the Venezuelan territory, it means Plume or Crown of Feathers, a symbol of power and honor. In Venezuelan culture, tribute is often paid to the different Caciques – the indigenous leaders – by giving their name to cities or geographical areas where they dominated; we wanted to pay tribute to all these legendary warriors.

We are in direct contact with several cocoa producers throughout the Venezuelan territory, after a careful evaluation regarding their processing methods and the sustainability of their production we select what we consider to be the best beans available and we work them with respect to present the best chocolate made with that cocoa.
